Senior Project Manager

Job description

The project leader must initially coordinate the possibilities within the current context with the various stakeholders and existing applications around training offerings. Subsequently, a number of subprojects will need to be driven:

  • UI/UX research
  • Software development
  • Adaptations to source systems
  • Connection to a broader campaign to promote adult education

The project leader is the central hub of these actions.

In terms of profile, the project leader is someone with experience in IT projects, but who is also used to stakeholder management and someone who can capture high level business requirements and translate them into specifications or a project request. The project leader reports to the responsible persons within AHOVOKS but can function with a large degree of autonomy.

Furthermore, the project leader is someone who communicates transparently, provides adequate feedback and delivers the necessary accountability documents and products.

The project leader directs the necessary people from the business within the project, but this is done in consultation with the business, so that no misunderstandings arise about the agreements concerning the deployment of people.

Requirements

  • Higher education (Master or Bachelor) with technical/engineering background or equivalent through experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical environments within which projects are located.
  • Communication and customer service oriented, preferably through demonstrable preparation/training.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in infrastructure projects or development projects, of which minimum 5 years experience in leading and supervising projects with total budgets of minimum 1000 K EUR.
  • Capacity to oversee multiple individual projects, and to direct and optimize the substantive links between the various projects
  • Language requirement: Dutch on European CEFR-level C2
  • Ability to use project management techniques and tools (risk management, issue management, ...)
  • Knowledge of MS Project, MS Office (such as PowerPoint, Excel, ...).
  • Knowledge of ITIL.
  • Very good knowledge of the terminology, organization, roles and processes of the PM methodology (e.g. Prince-2,PMI, PMBOK, ...), preferably demonstrated by certification. Able to transfer expert knowledge.
