Business Analyst for supporting services

Job description

As a business analyst, you are responsible for mapping out, clearly communicating and prioritising the business needs for IT systems to be developed or adapted. High demands are placed on the completeness, correctness and unambiguous formulation of these needs, but also on daring to challenge the needs of the internal customer and to suggest alternatives.

As (occasional) Project Leader, you are responsible for the planning, organisation and execution of various projects within the team. In doing so, you coordinate internal developers and infrastructure managers as well as external suppliers. After all, packages are used within Infrabel, including SAP and O365/ Microsoft products, but also smaller packages.
As (occasional) Application manager, you take care of the operational RUN of the applications, follow up incidents and coordinate the successful implementation of corrections, in cooperation with the external supplier of the solution or internal staff.

Your tasks, depending on your role, will include:

  • Defining the scope and context of new IT systems or parts of them.
  • In collaboration with stakeholders, identifying, aligning and documenting functional and non-functional business needs for these IT systems.
  • Clear communication and follow-up of these business needs to the technical teams responsible for implementation.
  • Drawing up specifications, in which the functional and non-functional business needs, as well as the constraints are documented for the benefit of the developers.
  • Drawing up test requirements (test cases and test scenarios)
  • Performing tests
  • drafting the project plans and the corresponding documentation
  • monitoring the planning/scope and budget of the project.
  • interaction and collaboration with the various technical teams involved in the realisation of the projects and with the business team (our internal client)
  • the organisation of workshops;
  • organising the rollout of the processes and internal procedures (communication, training, coaching);
  • (re)negotiating the contract and managing the supplier(s)
  • documenting the RUN process (operation guides) so that the helpdesk can intervene in case of problems
  • providing support to key users for the use of the application and coordinating support activities for incidents not provided for in the operation guide
  • monitoring the budget for both construction and operational support of the application

Requirements

Technical skills

  • experience in business analysis
  • General knowledge of architecture and IT technology (databases, middleware, etc.).
  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, sharepoint, outlook, skype)
  • You have a good knowledge of new technologies, O365
  • You have a good knowledge of Customer Care processes
  • You have a good knowledge of MS Project
  • Experience in application management
  • Experience in "New way of Working" and collaborative projects
  • You have experience in project management of projects with internal and external suppliers, end-to-end management of the project (including build to run).
