Medior Project Leader

Mission description:
You will work on multiple projects/data initiatives over the next few years, with project teams of up to 10 people (including functional analysts, software developers, business managers, experts, key-users ...). As project manager, you are ultimately responsible for your project. You ensure that your project is realised and delivered within the agreed time and budget. Since limit management is a key project for Elia, we are looking for an enthusiastic medior business project leader who wants to strengthen the project team, with the following strengths: planning and organising, communication, stakeholder management, transparent reporting on progress.
Project - Advanced Limit Management
The project aims to support the further integration of a large number of variable resources and consumers into the grid by using more accurate limits for both planning and real-time tools. What is a limit? A limit specifies how much electrical current is allowed to flow through a given asset or connection for a given time. In addition to updating the permanent limit, the aim is also to provide temporary limits so that the electrical network can be operated as optimally as possible. This project is part of the data optimisation roadmap and will therefore have a strong focus on people (roles & responsibilities) & processes related to transversal data management.
Data initiatives
The data initiatives aim to enrich the current digital version of our physical high-voltage network with more details. This enriched digital version will, among other things, enable the advanced limit management project. Specifically, the aim is to map the data needs for each fleet, collect the data and store them in our asset referentials. In cooperation with the business, agreements need to be made and to maintain the data. Setting up processes with clear roles and responsibilities is a must for this.
Service description:
You report to the project owner/program manager and your hierarchy. You will be responsible for planning, organising and monitoring all internal activities of this project. In collaboration with the project team, you will be responsible for:
  • Making tactical choices for the implementation phase.
  • Detailing the scope, drawing up a realistic planning, booking the required resources.
  • Determining, requesting and coordinating the necessary budgets and resources.
  • Stakeholder management
  • Actively managing and monitoring the project staff.
  • Closely monitoring the progress of the projects as well as the interactions between the project streams.
  • Supporting the change and actively contributing to the development of the change plans, bringing about a transition from the project phase to the operational phase.
  • Financial monitoring and reporting to the appropriate bodies (Portfolio Office & Steercos).
  • Determining the training needs of end-users and drawing up an adequate training plan
  • Coaching and motivating your project members and organising the project meetings.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Master level or equivalent through experience
  • Knowledge & Experience - As a Medior project manager, you have about 5 years of relevant project management experience!
  • Organisation and planning - A complex organisation does not scare you away. You create a clear structure and planning to optimally manage your team and realise the project.
  • Analytical insight - You are solution-oriented, and pay attention to simplicity and efficiency in processes.
  • Empathic, motivating & entrepreneurial - You are driven and dynamic. You know how to mobilise people, bringing projects to a successful conclusion. You can empathise with the world of the end user and your team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Listening skills and customer-oriented
  • Able to work independently, as well as in a team in a multidisciplinary project team
  • Experience of working in a technical environment is a must.
  • Knowledge of the basics of electricity is an asset.
  • Skilled with Office applications such as: PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, Word, Access
  • You can express yourself fluently in English and Dutch or French.

Project Info:

  • Desired start date ASAP.
  • Candidates are assumed to make a long-term commitment as this is a medium-term project (up to early 2025).

Location:

Vilvoordelaan 126 - 1000 Brussels (Schaarbeek). Physical presence of at least 2 per week required.
