Senior Data & Information Architect

Job description

What you will be doing

  • You align the Business World and the Technology World to reach the strategic targets.
  • In collaboration with the subject matter experts, you design enterprise data architecture blueprints for data capabilities and enablers that strategically prepare our client to meet the targets and allow taking advantage of new business opportunities.
  • From an overarching and data-centric point-of-view, you guide integration, quality enhancement and successful data delivery:
    • In the context of data management, overarching by orchestrating data, technology, infrastructure, business processes, people and organization.
  • You advocate and push adoption of the data backbone
  • You create and refine an aligned and commonly recognized Data Domain Map will greatly simplify the ability to prioritize and focus data management, data governance, and data quality-improvement initiatives.
  • You constitute the Transversal Data Model (TDM) and Canonical Data Model (CDM) to structure business data through a conceptual viewpoint independent of any present realization by real systems.
  • You drive Proof of Concepts that contribute to evaluating and validating the most suitable option for the Enterprise Data Architecture Blueprint.

What you will NOT be doing

  • You shall not act from an Ivory Tower.
  • You don’t not make decisions without careful logic or showing your reasoning.
  • You don’t manage engineering and development teams.
  • You don’t define the details of the solutions architecture, nor the technical architecture, nor will you implement technical solutions.
  • You don’t develop systems.

Requirements

The candidate skills and experience

As a candidate for this mission, you can demonstrate proven experience with similar projects, missions or employments, with skills that encompass:
  • 10+ years designing Solutions and Blueprints as a cross-domain Enterprise Architect
  • 8+ years designing Data Integrations within the Enterprise and with external parties, bridging Cloud and on-premise systems
  • 7+ years establishing best practices, methodologies, frameworks, principles, policies and processes
  • 4+ years defining Business Domains, Data Domains and/or Application Domains
  • 4+ years designing Data Models
  • 4+ years designing fault-tolerant solutions
  • Some experience designing Master Data Management solutions
  • Some experience implementing Big Data and Data Lake (optional)
  • 3+ years developing data-focused products (optional)
  • Master degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics

  • Product-oriented mindset
  • Excellent MS PowerPoint and presentation skills
  • Language skills: fluent in German AND fluent in English
